The manufacturing industry is the backbone of our country and is in the midst of a major comeback. As a result, the economy is improving, more Americans are finding rewarding employment, and small businesses around the country are showcasing innovation and forward thinking.
We are a proud American manufacturer, and we continuously strive to make an impact on the industry and on our community. As a result, we are extremely proud to have been nominated for the second year in a row for the Governor’s ImPact Awards. In fact, we are currently one of only five finalists in the small business category.
Just to get nominated for this award is an honor, and to be a finalist is an extreme honor. To be nominated again is tremendously flattering, and we are very grateful. When we found out we had been nominated by MANTEC, we were very excited.
The ImPact Award is given by Governor Tom Corbett in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED) and Team Pennsylvania Foundation. The awards, according to their website, recognize and celebrate companies of all sizes that “are making the greatest impact in their communities, perpetuating innovation and entrepreneurship and expanding their presence globally.”
At Astro Machine, the last few years have seen us in consistent growth mode, hiring additional people regularly and, we like to believe, exemplifying what small American businesses are all about. After all, we not only place great importance on the quality of our work and the satisfaction of our customers, but on how we can positively affect our community and our neighbors.
We are very much looking forward to the awards ceremony on May 30, 2014, and we’ll be sure to keep you posted. Regardless, we are honored, humbled, and thankful to be included in such a prestigious award with such distinctive industry peers.
