The Countdown to USDOE 2017 Is On!

Check your calendar for the U.S. Department of Energy (USDOE)’s conference in May. This year will mark the 16th annual Small Business Forum & Expo organized by the DOE’s Office of Small & Disadvantaged Business Utilization, and we are proud to be an exhibitor at the Kansas City event.

Origins of the DOE’s Small Business Forum & Expo

The U.S. Department of Energy began this event as a way to build on its mission for a prosperous and safe America by enhancing and retaining the nation’s energy independence, welcoming new approaches to engineering and science, and strengthening nuclear security.

The workshops, exhibits, sessions, and speeches align with these pursuits by providing ways for contractors and businesses in the energy industry to connect with the DOE’s offices and programs. The Department of Energy is the largest civilian department in the federal government.

What to Expect at the USDOE 2017

Attendees of the Small Business Forum & Expo this year can look forward to educational workshops, a hall dedicated to exhibits including our Astro Machine booth (#405), and business-oriented one-on-one matchmaking meetings.

Listen to knowledgeable keynote and session speakers, converse with exhibitors, and attend the matchmaking and breakout sessions. As a leading manufacturer in the Energy Industry, we look forward to showcasing our top-quality precision-machined parts.

Workshop topics will include a “101” tutorial on how to carry out business with the Department of Energy, available financing options for startups and existing businesses, and networking tips for securing more contracts. Network with other attendees too, including representatives from all government levels, small businesses, and large contractors.

When and Where Will It Take Place?

USDOE 2017 will occur May 16-18 in Kansas City, MO. This year’s location is the Sheraton Kansas City at Crown Center. Registration, which you can do beforehand or onsite, provides you access to the Exhibit Hall, matchmaking sessions, breakout sessions, and refreshments.

The conference starts at 7 am on each of the three days and goes until 5 pm on Tuesday, 7 pm Wednesday, and 4 pm Thursday. Look for us on any of the conference days at Astro Machine booth #405. Stay in touch by following our blog and connecting with our Twitter and LinkedIn profiles.
