Astro Machine Works Now Has Open Production Capacity
Production Cell of DN Solutions and Takisawa turning centers with live tooling gives customers faster turnaround on complex, high-mix parts.
EPHRATA, PA — Astro Machine Works, a precision manufacturer serving the aerospace, medical, pharmaceutical, government, telecommunications, energy, and industrial markets, today announced open capacity in their production cell consisting of seven CNC turning centers in its Ephrata, Pennsylvania facility. This equipment is arranged as a dedicated production cell, giving the company immediate open capacity for new and existing customers.
The cell includes two DN Solutions Puma GT-series turning centers (GT2100M and GT2600M), a DN Solutions Puma 4100MB, a DN Solutions Lynx 300M, and three Takisawa vertical turning lathes (two VTL-750 and one VTL-450). Every machine in the cell is equipped with live tooling, allowing Astro to mill, drill, and tap parts in the same setup as turning — reducing handling, cutting lead times, and improving part-to-part consistency.
Astro has the flexibility to run small precision components and large-format parts side by side without shifting jobs between departments, turning diameters up to 28″ diameter, with turn lengths to 38″ long.

Astro also has two Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), and an Automatic parts Washer in this cell to help provide quality, clean parts.
